Chastity followed by a Marriage

Hi All,
I've been reading many of the posts of all of you and really amazed that the people here are so friendly/warm and can share even private issues.
Anyway, I am a graduate student and a virgin of course. A friend of mine told me that here in state it's really difficult to find a 'virgin' girl to marry.. I was truly shocked, since in my country (Turkey) 90 % (or more) do not have any kind of sexual intercourse before marriage.. That's the part of our belief and/or cultural moral; I'd like to call it chastity.
Now, that I see this forum, it made me very happy to know that there are many 'pures' out there.. Yes! Pure is for pure.. live in chastity, your other part with same values will find you sooner or later anyway..
I love you all,
Cheers

U.S. morality

Yes it is truly sad how moraly corrupt the United States has gotten. Lies are now common place. The only time that many people feel lying is wrong is if someone is hurt by the lie. Even then many people still feel it is fine to lie for personal gain. Sex has become an everyday part of life and some people feel that it should be part of any "healthy" relationship. Sex sales so it is a mainstay in most advertising and entertainment. Along the same lines, I've heard estimates that as many as 1 in 4 young women have been molested at some point in their life. Also, many people think that it is fine to marry a person because of their financial status.

I feel that much of the roots of the decay of moral values in the United States is due to the fact that the country is so focused on monetary gains. This also leads to parents not having the time to teach their children morality since both parents in most cases must have full time jobs these days and have no time for their children. The final result is a generation of young people centered on what feels good instead of what is right and taught that money is the only reason to live.

Thanks

Thank you for your informative post. I'm now almost 3 years here in States; still learning so many interesting things about the culture, people and the life-route people follow. I would like to share my observations and impressions with you later.. for now, let me finish up my homework.. otherwise I won't get my graduate thesis started

Your Welcome

I'm glad to talk anytime. I guess I'm what most people consider a Christian scientist. Thats why I mention statistics so often. I guess I shouldn't do it so often since I'm not always sure of the exact numbers (some of this stuff I haven't looked into for several years) I try to get as close as possible though.

I understand the Homework. I'm only working towards an associates degree right now but plan on going for a PhD some day. I just don't have the funding right now.
