spouse or fiancee
Hi everybody,
I know this subject has come up before, but I also know that things change.
I have to decide - or discuss with my intended - the pros and cons of getting married in Ukraine or applying for a fiancee visa. I would appreciate any views on this and, of course, any personal experiences.
Thanks,
David

September 11 affected Visas through American Consulates
From what I understand, after September 11, 2001, it takes a couple of years to get a visa through the American Consulate in Russia or Ukraine. If you marry in either country and attempt thereafter to get a visa for your bride, it will take much longer than if you apply for a K-1 Fiancee Visa to bring her as your fiancee to marry in the USA.
I understand that it wasn't always this way but times have changed.
And now, at the time of this post, the COVID-19 pandemic has closed many flights out of European (or otherwise) countries to the USA.
The times, they are a changin' again, my friends.
